Introduction

Guru Nanak Eye center was conceived to provide super specialized Eye Health care to the people of various strata of society. Eye OPD was commissioned in 1978 in the phase I and phase II was constructed to provide 185 for in the patient department.
Guru Nanak Eye Center, deptt. of ophathlmolpogy. Under the Maulana Azad Medical College provides teaching & training facility to graduate and post-graduate students in ophthalmology. Every year batch of MBBS students is taught. Around 30 postgraduate students work in GNEV.Their work involved clinical, research and teaching.
To provide increasingly better services, construction of Phase-III has been proposed which is likely to completed by December, 1999. It comprised of three floors and proposed to provide the following :

1. Space for Operation Theater Complex
2. 48 bed special paid wards.
3. Well equipped kitchen for cooking food for the inmates.
4. Conference room.
5. Covered passage linking phase-I, II & III to provide ease in transportation of patient to and various blocks during inclement weather.
6. Library with documentation centre.
7. Research wing with academic Section.
8. Record room.
9. Service like electrical,Civil,Air-conditioning maintenance, gas store,stores, cafeteria for patients

It is also informed that the hospital has got two parkings. One is at OPD Block and another is at ward& O.T. block. Both parking places are available to park cars, scooter and cycles at the nominal charges.
