THE FACILITY:

a)

Sushruta Laboratory: provides simulated hands on surgical skills to a maximum of 18 candidates at the same time. Each student is able to see the skills being taught by the teacher, on the monitor and then perform the same at his/her station. All the skills are supervised by a team of dedicated trainers.

b)

Sanjeevani: this area has 2 components. The first is 10 stations for hands on laparoscopic surgery training to the surgeon trainees on endoscopic simulators for better hand eye coordination. The second area which actually is relevant to the name Sanjeevani, is for the purpose of life support training on 6 to 12 stations. Each station has a dedivated basic life support mannequin, and deviced for airway support and ventilation. Besides the central station for the Chief Tutor has the Advanced Mannequins for Advanced cardiac life support training and airway mannequins for training of various types of interventions for ventilation.

c)

Charak Hall: This is a lecture hall with a seating capacity of 40 candidates with desks and complete multimedia presentation facility.

d)

Computer Desks: These are provided to enable trainees to go through operative and other course videos kept in the library of the laboratory
