Central Animal House is engaged in the breeding, maintenance and upkeep of experimental animals required for the purpose of teaching and research work. A sizable number of different species of laboratory animals of standard breed/strains, namely, Rats, Mice, Guinea Pigs and Rabbits are raised and maintained under the controlled climatic conditions in specially designed rooms. Central Animal House also supplies surplus high-grade animals to other institutions for research purposes. It also provides a centralized facility for conducting experimental surgical and research works on the animals.
